Double Feature: Window Conversions In Rome & Herkimer

This week we are featuring a double window project that we installed for a new customer in Rome, NY and a repeat customer in Herkimer, NY. Both of our customers were experiencing old and failing windows and decided it was time to have them replaced. For both customers we installed a three-lite slider window finished in white.

Slider windows open horizontally, with the sash sliding to the left or right. Think of it like a single hung or a double hung window, on its side. Side sliding windows increase panoramic views of the outdoors and are a perfect fit for situations with limited vertical area. There is no lifting or cranking, and no easier way to let the outside in. In addition, slider windows require fewer parts to manufacture, which can increase ease of use and result in less maintenance over time.

Slider windows come in various sizes and styles and can make a great addition to any room. Both of our customer’s new three-lite slider windows contain a half size window in the middle and quarter size windows on each side. For project 1 our customer converted from a casement window to a three-lite slider window and for project 2 our customer converted from a bow window to a three-lite slider.

As windows age they will start to show signs of wear and tear and if left unaddressed can lead to more problems down the road. Both of our customers were experiencing chipped frames along the exterior of their previous windows.
