Double Feature: Casement To Slider Window Conversion & Review

This week we are featuring a double window project we completed for two returning customers in Ilion, NY and Rome, NY. We replaced windows for both of these customers before and they gave us a call when they were ready to replace a couple more! For the projects we installed a combination of two and three lite slider windows and a double hung window all finished in white.

Slider windows open horizontally, with the sash sliding to the left or right. Think of it like a single hung or a double hung window, on its side. Side sliding windows increase panoramic views of the outdoors and are a perfect fit for situations with limited vertical area. Both of our customer’s three lite slider windows contain a half size window in the middle and quarter size windows on each side.

Before converting to a slider window our customer used to have a casement window that was older and starting to show signs of wear. Along the exterior of the window the paint was starting to chip, which could lead to the frame being exposed to water and air infiltration. We were able to address these issues and install beautiful new windows that they will no longer have to worry about. In addition to the new slider window we also installed a new double hung window in the kitchen.

Our customer had casement windows throughout his home and decided to convert to slider windows because of the ease of use and the look they gave his home. Slider windows are a great choice for areas that have limited vertical area and areas where you want more natural light to enter. We installed a combination of two and three lite slider windows.
